  • Anniston AL to Smyrna GA

Registration is closed

Brenda and Jeff Henderson along with Tommy Gray decided it would be a fun event to ride bikes on the Chief Ladiga Trail and the Silver Comet Trail.  Total distance on this rails to trails path is about 95 miles.

The basic plan is as follows:

Thursday: Ride between Anniston and Piedmont then spend the night at the Hampton inn in Jacksonville.

Friday: Ride between Piedmont and Cedartown GA then spend the night at the Econo Lodge in Cedartown.

Saturday: Ride between Cedartown and Dallas GA with most skipping Mount Trashmore then spend the night at the Best Western in Hiram (5 miles from the Dallas trailhead)

Sunday: Ride from Dallas to the end of the trail.

Some people will plan to ride all 4 days while others may decide to ride fewer days. Additionally some will only ride West to East while others will plan to double back and enjoy some (or ALL) segments from the other direction.

Some will ride faster and longer but the idea is to join up at the start and end of each day to stay in touch to make sure everyone makes the trip safely.  Everyone will be responsible for their own hotels etc.  We hope to help coordinate moving vehicles forward as the trip goes so backpacks and extras are not needed on the bikes.

Sign up if you want to attend.  Additional details will be shared with the group that has registered.
