Club Level Tickets at $100 for the weekend can be reserved now through LGYC club. As part of a sponsorship deal the club will get 25 club level tickets for $100 each instead of the normal $120 each. Last year the Club Level seats sold out so please sign up early to make sure you get yours. If they are over subscribed we will try to get more but we may be limited to 25 tickets.
Club Level includes access into a large, private tented area for on-the-water viewing at the start/finish line and free lunch and nonalcoholic beverages. Free transportation to see the boats in the pit areas are available throughout the two days of racing is included! And as a special for the 2022 race, you get a commemorative cup to mark the 60th anniversary of the world speed record by Roy Duby. The Club level also has a cash bar and there was little or no line to get drinks in past years while the outside drink vendors typically had long lines.
Guntersville Lake Hydrofest will be this summer’s biggest event at the lake, with three classes of hydroplanes, racing at speeds of up to 200 mph. The 2022 event, set for June 25-26th, also will celebrate the 60th anniversary of Roy Duby setting the World Speed Record of 200.419 MPH at Lake Guntersville in 1962.
Along with H1 Unlimited, we are happy to announce the return of the Grand Prix America hydros and the addition of the Pro-Lite 5 Liter hydros. We are also excited to announce the Miss U.S. U-36 will be making her grand appearance at the 2022 race as well. The Miss U.S. is an original restored 1957 fully operational Unlimited Hydroplane having V12 Allison power. This boat is similar to the boat Roy Duby drove to break the world record in 1962.
LGYC has been a sponsor of Hydrofest and we hope to continue with our sponsorship without using Club funds this year. If we get good participation on the discount ticket through the club we will continue to have our name in the program and on the signs at the event as a sponsor. Please make your plans and reserve now so we know if this approach will work. At $20 below the normal price and the fact they sold out last year it seems likely that these tickets will be a good deal this year.
