Commodore Open Special Rules
Team Scramble – each player hits and then the team decides which ball to play for the next shot. Mark the position and move the ball up to one club length from the location not closer to the pin. Each player plays the next shot until you reach the green. If the ball is in the rough it must stay in the rough, you cannot improve the position to a better surface with the club length rule. When you are on the green you can move the ball one putter width, not closer to the pin.
Bogie is your maximum score. If you all miss your par putts, pick up and go to the next hole.
Men will play from the white tees for each hole.
Women will play from the red tees on par 3 holes, plus holes 2,6,8,12,13,16.
Women will tee off from the beginning of the fairway on holes 1,4,7,9,11,14,17 and 18. You may see the red dots on some holes to show you.
Each player has one mulligan which can be used at any time during the 18 holes – use it wisely.
Each male player has one red tee blaster that can be used on any hole, pick a hole where you might save a stroke to get to the green. My choice would be hole 6, 12 or 16.
On hole two, each player may attempt an underhand ball toss after the first shot. This is a continuation of the first shot and not an extra stroke.
On hole 13, each player will select one club and play the entire hole with that club. Hint, you can each select a different club if you like.
On hole 18, shot cups will be provided with a shot of Tin Cup if you care to have a nip. You must tee off using your empty shot cup as your tee. The shot make you feel like Kevin Costner in the movie “Tin Cup”, but please don’t take a 12 on the final hole. Supplies will be in the cooler at the golf cart garage of the Wills house on the 18th tee box.
The Commodore and Commodoress enjoy golf and would like to invite all the players (men and women) in the club to join for a fun scramble at the Gunter's Landing Golf Course. We have tee times reserved starting at 3 pm and will form up groups as everyone arrives. We have a twilight rate $36 per person including cart to play as long as you want or can depending on the light. Each player much check in at the clubhouse and pay before playing.
This is all about fun and we know some will only want to play 9 holes and can wait in the clubhouse which has a bar until the others finish.
