2018 has come in with an Artic blast that has left most of the Southeast with frigid temperatures. Even Orlando had 26 degrees this past Thursday morning. While Gerald and I were stationed in Key West from 1976 to 1978, it snowed in Miami and temperatures were in the mid 70’s in Key West. Now, it is COLD in Florida, when you see people in condos on Miami beach sweeping snow off their balconies. Oh, beautiful and WARM Spring, we hope you are just around the bend!
Let’s start off the New Year with a few words from our New Commodore, Mike Rogers:
First, I wish to thank all of you who continue to make LGYC one of the best places on earth. I am very grateful to be your Commodore for this year. New faces in new positions this year, other than board and executive committee members introduced in October General Meeting are, Gail Daniel, Newsletter; Sarah Grace, Historian; Steve Bosse, Safety; Murray Beck, Chaplain; Gerald Daniel, Range Master; and Pam Bosse, Photography, Flowers, Cards and Notifications. Due to Mike Frazier moving to Member at Large, Chuck Ruddy, was voted to take his place on the board, in addition to his duties in Public Relations. All this will be in the new LGYC 2018 Membership Directory that will be out soon thanks to all the hard work by our Secretary, Chuck Wills.
